Ratings and Duties

As not all of our crew are actively involved in combat activities, there are two tracks for the Officer Corps; Line officers for those leading combat units, and Staff officers for those in non-combat leadership positions. Candidates to the crew are designated as Midshipmen, and traditionally are referred to as "Trevors".

Ship's Favours

All crew and companions of Horizon's End are given Ship's favours, which are worn suspended from their waistbelts. Crew member favours have gold borders. Midshipmen favours have no border.

Part of Horizon's End's purpose is to provide a structure for any  Calafian rapier fighters wanting to fight within a trained combat unit. Thus, individuals from other households that fight alongside Horizon's End are recognized with the status of Marine. They can earn rank equivalent to Line Officers and command units upon the combat field. Marine favors have a red border, and may display appropriate rank insignia (red with piping).
